Do we know David Sweat is alive?

Last night after a reporter referred to Sweat as an “inmate” my thought was,

“Err, no.”

My second thought was, reporters ought to concentrate on fact-finding.

Lets review:

1.  Two murderers escape prison; and,

2.  There have been few sightings of both, since.

Today, a key point.

Bloodhounds have not picked up David Sweat’s scent.

Is it possible Richard Matt killed David Sweat some time ago?  Is anyone exploring that idea?  Are authorities backtracking?

Is media, back-pedaling?  Are hard questions not being asked authorities?

Just askin’

Well I’m wrong again! They shot/wounded Sweat getting ready to cross the border. According to Reuters quoting the Buffalo News: Sweat is bleeding badly from “life-threatening” wounds & has been airlifted to Albany. NY prison authorities wanted him captured alive to learn more about how they escaped to tighten prison security.

I think he planned to get rid of Sweat as soon as possible after their escape when he was no longer useful to him. Matt used the younger man for heavy work to escape, but once outside, Sweat would have been considered a hindrance and if captured, he would have been a threat to Matt because he knew too much by that time.
Matt’s accomplice in the 1997 murder testified that Matt was vicious, cunning & evil after watching him torture his boss to get money & when that didn’t work, he snapped the man’s neck. As for Sweat, he went to prison for shooting & killing a sheriff’s deputy over robbing a gun store. He’s just a dim-witted robber, but not a psychopath like Matt. I would not be surprised if Matt had killed & scattered Sweat’s remains throughout the woods to deflect the dogs from following Matt’s scent.
