Well, at least this time, it was media and not San Diego Police – doing the choking.
Although opposite all reporting – there were injuries.
It was a busy day for attorney Bryan Pease

San Diego Police – hours after Trump departed San Diego, attacked Pease for holding an “Elect me” sign.
The morning following Trump’s “visit,” I spoke with candidate for San Diego City attorney, Bryan Pease. (Pease was campaigning in the thick of things during Trump’s visit.) See above photo after the police took him down.
Hours after the event, the police continued back-walking about a dozen plus, straggly protesters over the bridge, and shooting pepper ball bullets at them.
No one knows why. Trump had long since “left the building” and San Diego altogether. However, during law enforcement’s “Advance on Stragglers” (about a dozen) by 60 riot-geared up police officers, a few tackled and arrested Pease. Police actions earned for Pease:
- A night in jail
- Media
- The title of “Defendant” and;
- “Plaintiff” for a Free Speech lawsuit.
- For which he hasn’t had time to draft a Complaint
A little more about Pease can be found in this San Diego City Beat story.
But my interest was in the cringe-worthy coverage provided by local media…based on law enforcement reports of “no injuries” – announced, apparently, without a single grain of salt, in spite of several instances of news video capturing excessive use of force. (This is fresh on the heels of law enforcement defeating Senate Bill 1286 – which would make police misconduct records open to the public.)
Sidebar!
Bryan told me of numerous “cellmates” suffered injuries; including one guy with a mohawk whose face was slammed to the concrete to such a degree, his booking photo featured a giant goose egg.
Yet media repeatedly tweeted the opposite – sadly, beginning in real time. And then they stuck with it.
I am as massively uncomfortable with media first parroting, then cheering police reports of “no injuries” without interviewing arrestees, as I am of media refusal to address police violations of free speech and the mayoral silence in the face of what he knew was coming.
Will media follow up with the guy with the mohawk?
Pease said Michael Chen got the shot of him going down, but not being face-slammed into the concrete. I’m told one can acquire CTE in one accident. Face-slamming not being in the “accidental” category.
By the way….I didn’t here back from anyone for this tweet.
Here’s a sprinkling of other media tweets.
and
All in all, it was the kind of coverage Trump loved. So much so, Trump thanked San Diego police for acting against the haters.
I’ve been surfing on-line greater than 3 hours these days, yet I never discovered
any attention-grabbing article like yours.
It’s beautiful value enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers
made excellent content material as you did, the internet will likely be much more helpful
than ever before.

In the category of better late than never….I saved your words and jettisoned the rest. Thanks Moms Hugs – always look forward to your take.

“Wait just a minute! Are you telling me that media outlets aren’t really liberal leftists as claimed? That’s it! We can’t believe a word they spout. What’s next? Mothers don’t really make apple pies?
I wish someone would post videos of one of Hitler’s campaign speeches alongside one of Trump’s speeches… but reverse the sound bites. Something tells me there would be very little difference.”
